Since its inception, Business for the Arts has undertaken much ground-breaking research, such as:
- The only Canadian annual surveys into the financial state of performing arts organizations and art galleries and museums. Initiated in 1976, they provide for time and trend analysis, enabling us to measure the fact that private sector support has increased ten fold since then.
- The first ever Canadian research into Business Sponsorship of the Arts and ongoing research, including the publication of Business Support of the Arts, a ten year study produced in partnership with The Conference Board of Canada.
- The first ever Canadian research into arts Endowment Funds.
- The first ever survey of Gifts of Appreciated Securities, conducted by Deloitte & Touche and commissioned by Business for the Arts, CAGP, NSFRE and AHP.
- The first national survey of public attendance patterns and attitudes around sports and the arts, Focus on the Arts, a joint venture with Ipsos Reid.
